Over at Mike's blog awhile back, he posted about HeatMaps and I incorrectly assumed it was trying to map clicks from the site - something like what CrazyEgg does with their heat map imagery for visualizing statistics. As stated, I was incorrect in my assumption, however...today I just (just now) came across something that's OpenSource which will attempt to do a similar mapping for you. Rather than color heat generation, it is currently just placing little 'x's on the image, but even so...do you really need an oil-slick looking page, or just to see where people are focusing on your links?

ClickHeat: what's hot on your webpage?
(Navigate to clickheat -- direct linking sends you to the wrong place for some reason.)
I've also found an interesting semi-live server information script. It reports back with top information, as well as MySQL data, and I think a couple other things. I haven't tried it out, and I don't think I'll be messing around with it on our production server, but it'd be interesting to toy with on my test server.

OnForce Ajax Server Monitor

Sorry for the lack of posting lately...I'm enjoying some nice PC/Internet vacation. Watching TV and movies when I get home from work rather than programming like some mad codemonkey type-ape. ;-)

The clickheat link leads to the login page...this link is more obvious:

    http://www.labsmedia.com/clickheat/

    That server monitor looks cool...

Hey Mike, ironically enough, the link you provided is the same I used (hover over mine and look in your browser's status bar). Apparently it uses redirection on incoming links. The root folder of that domain seems to work for me, however, so I've edited my link to reflect that. Thanks for pointing it out!

Hi Brendon. This is off-topic, but I read a post on a message board from December where you were looking for the font Macy's used in their holiday ads. Did you by chance ever find it (or a similar font)? It had caught my attention as well and I too would like to know what it is. If you have any info and are willing to share, please email me at (email removed). THANKS!!!! - Janet

I guess I'm going to have to install a forum soon. :-)
...or perhaps just a "Contact Form" page...
