A couple years ago, Salted, the brains behind SiteVista, created an application to ease the pain of working with the compatibility differences in developing CSS-based websites between the two major browsers: Firefox and Internet Explorer. There were a few noted problems with that version, but it was still usable if you knew how to get around it all. But, now we don't have to deal with those problems anymore!

I've been a bit slack in my upkeep of content here, but it's mostly for a sheer lack of (interesting) content.

I only just recently, thanks to a link on php|architect's news section, found a nice article discussing MySQL Server Replication, allowing a seamless transition from one server to another without fear of data loss, or even a data timeout. Anyhow, since I'm not anywhere close to a MySQL administrator level of experience, I'll simply link to the article:

So, are you doing anything interesting for this holiday? I realize not everyone may celebrate the religious portion of the holiday (which is its entire purpose), but perhaps you're merely taking the opportunity to visit with family, have a big meal, or just sit at home and relax. So, once again, what are you doing?

I'm sitting back, trying to Bake with my PHP scripts...getting an unknown error right now. (CakePHP) I'm sure I'll figure it out! It's easy enough. ;-)

I don't pretend to know what I'm talking about when discussing (web) design theory. I know a few things that were taught to me back in my (very) early years of art class where I got to finger paint, but as far as actual theory - I'm acutely lacking. However, I do understand that I have this imbalance and need to strengthen myself in this regard, which is why I'm taking steps to try and understand it all.

Someone (Hi, Jon!) asked about my grid system that I was going on about in my earlier post, The Golden Section, wondering how I used it (and probably wondering what the heck I was going on about). Well, hopefully I'll clear some of that up in this blog post. I may repeat some of the things I discussed earlier so be prepared for a little monotony (presuming you read the other article).

I had five minutes to do something before I decided that I wanted to watch a movie...I'm now putting that off simply to report back on what I got out of my time.

For the background information...I just discovered that the person traditionally in charge of handling my high school's class reunions, is out of the country and could probably care less over handling everything...so we need something up quick and dirty.
