Dear Friends,

I have just read and signed the online petition:

"Save HD-DVD! (Warner Brothers, The Consumer Has Not "Clearly" Chosen Blu-Ray)"

hosted on the web by PetitionOnline.com, the free online petition
service, at:

http://www.PetitionOnline.com/SAVEHDD/

I personally agree with what this petition says, and I think you might
agree, too. If you can spare a moment, please take a look, and consider
signing yourself.

Best wishes,

Brendon Kozlowski

What's the point of keeping HD-DVD? I like there to be as little formats as possible, the more format there is, the more Chaos the world becomes. Especially when HD-DVD and Blueray offers essentially the same thing. I don't care which one wins. I will let either one go if the other one appears to be more popular.

That's the odd thing though. Except for the sales of PS3, sales of HD-DVD players surpass that of BluRay players - as far as I know, in Europe sales of HD discs has HD-DVD over that of BluRay. It's more costly to produce BluRay (both hardware and discs), consumers must pay more, and like you said, they offer essentially the same quality. HD-DVD's protocol offers more potentially useable features than BluRay does though; oh, did I mention BluRay's standard isn't finalized yet?

So then, why would the producers switch to the more costly, less popular choice?

I was too until I got an XBox 360 and HD-DVD adapter for Christmas this year...it'll go nicely next to the Wii I purchased myself. :-) I returned the PS3 I got last year (and got a nice Canon Digital Rebel XTi). ...we do expensive gifts in this family, it kind of sucks. I've almost paid all the bills off though! I'm almost glad I didn't have a girlfriend for December, wow! Ha!

But, umm...yeah, I much prefer HD-DVD considering the price difference and feature comparison.
